Who knows what will be the out come this weekend ,trying to cater for the agility ,flyball ,show dog people .
Just hope that we can encourage some of these dog handlers to have a go.
Using iether dummies or air kongs so that we dont go to alien on these poor dogs.
Hope the weather holds out as we are taking the dunking bath so we can cool dogs off.
Just watched the RSPCA programme of somes dog left in a car, only got one comment DO NOT DO IT .
Be careful have a good weekend and will let you know how we got on next week looking forward to meeting up with Roly and Floody and Joanne who wants to scurry!!!
Scone ,Cirencester ,Morpeth and any where else hope the sun shines.

Bodelwyddan Castle this weekend BASC and my guess with Helen and Steve Crick sorting out with Glynn Cooke, have a good show girls and boys great venue and good scurries.
4th-th July Newark show ground Dogs Unleashed a multi dog event rangeing from agility dancing dogs flyball waterjump and scurries (aimed at agility dogs more than gundogs stuff).
4th-5th Cirencester park Basc Queen Ann Cup????
10th-11th-12th July East of England show ground Just dogs live Championship show for all those posing dogs and a 3 day agility competion other dogstuff including the Famous and becomeing World Famous Howard and Annie from Mullenscote gundogs doing thier arena stuff and helping you to have a nice pooch.
And we will be there doing scurries aimed at the agility flyball dogs where thier speed over hurdles is awesome so we have designed couses for them to do with a choice of dummies, tennisballs, or airkongs for retrieves.
Same rules apply at these agility show as they do at countryfairs ,you can handle the dogs ,clockstops and starts with dogs going over the start line and basically its for fun.
Finally on show dates anybody up in Northumberland in the Morpeth area find the Morpeth Hunt and Terrier Club day in Meldon on the 5th July and go along and say Hi to Marcia and crew first time running a scurry think they are doing a bale jump and a 2 dummy pickup.
Sure that Marcia would love to see you on the 5TH JULY Meldon,Morpeth Northumberland

First of all Hope everyone is ok and having a few weeks off from scurrying and getting some practice in at home for the big scurries at the CLA.
I have now alocated times and days to all of my volunteers and now awaiting confirmation from CLA to say yes or no to my ticket requirements.
Going to Newark for dogs Unleashed on the 4th-5th July all events are aimed at dogs first time its been run so we will hope for good weather and some good events to watch and take part in.
Do not know what is planned for Cirencester and the Queen Ann cup but quite sure BASC will do something memorable.
Great weekend in Chatsworth last week with the working test dogs Retrievers and spaniels along with HPR tribe good dogs good handlers crap weather but who cares we where with the dogs and good company.
Saw a Woodcock carrying a young to safety as we beat out a wood with the Spaniels first for everyone there so something to remember.
Asked an A panel Judge to define present to hand and they where unable to give the definitive answer that covers all dogs in all situations ,so were do'es that leave a scurry judge who is told by an organiser that the dog must present to hand.
Have a good summer break and will speakto those coming to the CLA to help very soon

What a great weekend lots of new people lots of sunshine and good company, lots of kids and parents sat watching.
Artical in Shooting Times about scurries and the politics of whether it ruins dogs but I look at the positive side of scurries at country fairs if they are run well and the public can sit and watch then they become a great peice of entertainment.
We at scurrybandits and with the help of Living heritage and all our sponsors try to keep the paying public entertained whilst in the country fairs be this at the expence of the people who have paid to run thier dogs in the events.Sometimes we take the micky out of the people who sit and watch or even the people throwing dummies.
My special thanks go to two young lads who made my weekend first to SAM ZELLER with Pip who for me makes my job worth while hope to see this pair again. My second thankyou go's to a young lad who tapped me on the arm and very politely asked if he could do the dummy launcher not his dog but him. After we finished about five minutes later he ran with his dog Wilimena and did the dummy launcher to the applause of the crowd great finish to my weekend.
To those who knock scurries here s my invite come and try it from my side of the fence before your write any more critisisms of our sport and enjoyment.

I personnally had a great weekend with some great competitors some mad spectators and some of the best competition from the juniors that I have witnessed at any show .Thanks to the mum's and dads for bringing the kids and supporting them.
Comments from the man who said that we where the best entertainment on the show ground gives you the willingness to go on. My thanks go to not just the people who run the event but all of you that compete and as much so those of you that just sit and watch laugh and applaud when some one be they adult or junior get it right and in some cases wrong. We try to make the day as much fun as we can and as entertaining as possible.
Nominated for the most entertaining dog and handler from this show go'es to Claire Bithney with her dog Kia the Labrador who went out the back of the ring picked up a 1 pint beer glass and then went off and showed it to the crowd.
Nominated by Mark Jones |

We have now had three shows ,7 days and 35 potentional 1st places and we have handed out around 30 invites to the Sandringham finals yet the postman seems to be unable to return many of these invites .
So let me explain what should be happening ,if you have won a first place in any of the events at a Living Heritage Shows then in your pack with your prizes was an invite that if you wish to come along to Sandringham and compete in our Finals in September then fill in the forms and post them back to me .
I will if you do not post them back then I will assume that you will not be coming to the finals and give your place to some one else.
The prizes on offer will be one off's no one else do's trophies and prize packets like ours on top of which you could get an invite to compete at Salisbury next March.
So if you are reading this and you have a first place in the Dummy Laucher or in the Multi scurry in Open,Novice or junior concider filling in the return form. |
