I have some names of people coming to the bigggest gun show in the country to help on the scurries if you are able to come along and help give me a call and will sort out passes.
Straight after the Shooting Show we are off to Beale Park in Pangbourne Reading new venue for scurrybandits do not know what to expect people wise near London and not far from Oxford and so I expect there will be some scurry experts and some trialist working test exponents in attendance, have to wait and see.
Spent Friday in the rain on a Field Trial with Labadors different but very enjoyable some old faces and some new ones this gundog world is quite small when you look at it closely.
Going to Crufts on the Sunday for Gundog day anyone else planning a trip.
Anyone got any questions or ideas for this year post them to me and we try to get something new up and unning if we think it will work.

This was a great show last year and from information from the show it is much bigger this year more to see more to buy more to do so come along for a day out bring the wife kids and dogs.
3 types of scurry to play on Dummy Launcher, Bales and Pick-up so hopefully we will keep you entertained.
14 shows booked for Living Heritage
1 Shooting Show
1 CLA GAME FAIR
1 Just Dogs Live
1 Dogs Unleashed
Details on Events Calendar
There are an awful lot of shows out there that do not have scurries so if you know of such an event please check that dates do not clash with events that I have already committed to and then let me have any details that you may have. You lot know what we are about and I need to fill my diary and we need to spread the work that Gundog scurries are fun and they do entertain the paying public who pay good money to getin to shows and need to be able to sit and watch something as they drink thier coffee and eat thier icecreams.

Anyone who went to the event on Newyears day at the Laines Shooting School where challenged with one of the most difficult and taxing scurries the Scurrybandits have set for scurrry people and trailist to compete in.
Good scurry dogs from around the country competed with trialists to complete 5 different scurries from bales to single long retrieve onto dummy launcher next two in a pen then 3 blinds in a dew pond.about 700 yards in just over a minute and a half for the fastest of dogs.
Good dogs came and went and some failed to complete the course some got lost on the long retrieve some tried the dummy launcher and then went walkabout on the partridge pens.
Elaine Prime shone through in the end and won the overall prize with Roly Judith an Annie winning places with Steven and a lady with a little cocker from the trialist winning places with the pole dancing June keeping her winning ways with her Labrador.
I think from the comments made during the day and since the day this was one of the best of 2009 even if it was on the 1st of January 2010
Howard Kirby his staff and family deserve a special mention as they really did everyone proud they excelled in thier organisation of the day before the party and the day my personal thanks to all of them.
To all the helpers that gave thier time freely to throw dummies keep score cards and run dummies you do so much that without you none of this would happen thank you from me to you.
I would like to see this event become one of our annual events dont know how you feel but if you let me know then maybe Howard will be convinced that it is a good idea . |

When invited to compete in a most prestiges invertation only in a secret location hosted by a Goddess and a Princess one can only be so humble as to accept the offer.
Little did these mere mortals realise that Rosie and Twizzel are stars and without any help or slieght of hand Rosie became the Clowne Gundog Boxing day Scurry champion and Twizzel recording the fastest dummy launcher retrieve of the day.
Enough about me and my dogs many thanks to Gail,Jan,Monty and Julian and everyone else for a great afternoon of stupidness miss-behavoir and downright good fun.
We will be back next year to defend our title that is if we can find the place again.
Thanks boys and girls see you on Wednesday when we head south for a New Years party and the fist Scurry of 2010 on Friday the 1st of January.
Have a save New Year and see you all soon.

Any one who knows Dexter will know that he is my gun shy gun dog never as he ever tried to accept that he is surposed to be a gundog and work to the gun.
He as sat in the back of my car on every shoot I have been on and refused to get out and come and work with me or any of my other dogs.
Dexter as started to get out of the car walk with me and my other dogs sit whilst the guns shoot Phesants and Partridge then go off and pick-up birds with Rosy Twizzel and Dizzy he is running towards shooting guns when there are runners to collect.
What bought about the change in his behavoir is that I have been using PETSPEC Calmer and it is the only thing that I have changed.
Petspec are one of my sponsors for the scurries at Living Heritage shows and I used it to prove the product actually works .
I use the Mobility product on Dizzy and knew that worked because she walks better and runs without any problems ,she as had dodgy back legs for along time .
Some of you people may say that I am only saying this because they sponsor me and I am only looking after my interests .
If you know me then you will know that is not the case if this product did not work I would not advocate the product.
Why did it work for Dizzy and Dexter I do not know but if Dexter can get out of the car and stand behind a shoot line and then go off picking up then that is proof enough for me .
If you want to try any of the products contact me and have a chat.
To see the product go to www.petspec.co.uk
